This specification summarizes eight standardized requirements for gate valve installation, covering hoisting protection, mounting direction, opening/closing rules, lubrication, cleaning, bolt fastening and packing inspection. It forbids lifting valves via handwheel and requires vertical installation for double gate valves. The valve can only be fully opened or closed by original handwheel instead of extra levers to protect sealing faces. Besides, cavity and sealing surface cleaning, even bolt tightening, regular lubrication on stem threads and rotating parts as well as qualified packing compression are mandatory during installation to prevent damage, corrosion and leakage of gate valves.
